Nancy B. Perlson,  Yoga Instructor

"I learn by going where I have to go"
Theodore Roethke

Surrender.
That is how Nancy would describe her journey through yoga. Not the surrender that rolls over in defeat, rather the softening and letting go to the natural flow of energy... the pull of life.
Nancy first came to her mat in 1999. Yoga quickly became a means of dedicated self-care from her emotionally charged work as a social worker dealing predominately with issues of grief and loss. Through the physical practice of yoga, Nancy was able to realign the mind-body connection, so often fractured in our daily lives, and find a place of calm and wholeness. As Nancy’s physical practice grew, naturally, her desire for more intensified. It was at this point that the true lessons of yoga began to take root and she recognized the profound and positive effect yoga was having in all aspects of her life.
The integration of asana, pranyama, yogic philosophy, and social work practice was the pooling of paths that naturally led to Nancy’s certification as a yoga instructor through the Yoga Alliance. Nancy is also a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT). Whether she is working with a class or an individual, Nancy’s goal is to provide a safe space to explore, discover, and in many cases, mend the mind-body connection that leads us to find wholeness and peace, both on and off the mat.
